What's up, it's @hackedongrowth  here, Motivation is a difficult thing to come by. I can't recall ever feeling like getting up before sunrise. I've always been bad at waking up early, renowned for pressing the mute button way too many times and sleeping through just about everything, so daybreak and I have never gotten along. Similarly, I never feel like going to the gym, and sometimes since I don't have any inspiration or motivation to do it, it's going to be a struggle.

Have I ever regretted getting up before sunrise? It's like, why don't I do this every day? Yeah, I despise getting up at 5:00 a.m. But after you've done it and had nine animals about you, you'll wonder why you're not doing it every day because it feels so amazing and makes you feel so much more creative.

When I was attempting to think about what normally keeps me from getting up for dawn or from accomplishing work, I discovered that it's always when I let my feelings dictate my actions rather than letting my actions dictate my feelings. Action is always the catalyst for motivation, inspiration, and innovation.

As you consider it, it's a lot harder for us to manage our ideas, moods, and feelings in our heads, but it's a lot simpler to control our physical actions. The best part is that not only does action lead to motivation, but motivation also leads to more action, so if you can just find a way to take that first very little step, it'll help you feel more motivated, which will help you take the next move.

Folks know what you want to do, you have a goal, or you want to start a project, just do something, find the smallest easiest first bit of action that you can take towards that goal, and I promise that will start a cycle that will help you feel more motivated and want to take decisive steps, so get out there.

Let's start with the true reason you're not driven.

1. Objectives must be significant to you.

You'd be amazed how few people truly relate to their objectives. They establish big goals like becoming physicians or creating their own businesses without first asking themselves one basic question: "Is this what I really want?" People must relate to anything before it bears emotional weight. When we have that personal connection with a narrative or concept, we can insert ourselves into it and care about what happens.

If this sounds like you, take a close look at where you're going and reflect on why you do what you do. Ask yourself more introspective questions like did I pick my own objectives or is there anything else I feel better connected too. The answers to these questions will tell you if you're on the correct track or if you have a deeper connection with something else.

2. Congratulate yourself on everything.

Why would you let yourself get away with anything when you are lazy off or postponing? Do you continue to reward your poor habits? For many individuals, a typical afternoon looks like this: in the morning, you decide to take a step towards your objectives, you're motivated to get it done unless you've been dragging it off for months, you tell yourself that you can't watch TV or play videos at all until you get this finished, but when you're sitting in front of every computer, you're entirely bored and all you want to do is watch TV, so you say oh well I tried and voila

That should have pushed you, but you're not being strict with yourself, and you're not taking that reward system seriously. Your brain knows it'll receive the reward anyway, so it prefers to skip working and get right to the enjoyable part. Instead of feeling driven, your brain chooses to be lazy. So how should a proper reward system work? There must be positive rewards and bad consequences. If you perform your work as you should, you should get a reward and have some fun, but if you don't, you should take that reward away because there is no real consequence for slacking off. This type of reward system may be the underlying reason you're no longer employed.

3. You keep making the same mistakes.

You may be losing motivation because you feel like you're not making any progress since you keep hitting the same walls and battling with the same challenges. You may feel like you're stagnating, which makes it difficult to be motivated. Imagine you're trying to be an artist but you're not inspired to sketch or paint; you're suffering because you don't feel like you're developing; you look back at your art from a few months ago and nothing has changed.

If you find yourself in this dilemma, the cure is rather straightforward. shift your viewpoint Renew your drive by attempting something new; this fresh approach will assist you in avoiding prior blunders. open up fascinating new avenues for you and provide you with a new perspective on your previous challenges Hey, just because you've reached a wall doesn't mean you have to keep climbing it. Sometimes the greatest way to go over a wall is to find another route around it.

4. You are indecisive.

Maybe none of these apply to you. Maybe you're in the right sector, you love your work, and you know precisely where you're going on paper. You should be inspired every single day, waking up full of energy and ready to tackle your ambitions, but for some reason that isn't happening. So why aren't you motivated? The simple reality is that motivation, even in the ideal scenario, requires a lot of effort. You have to develop that skill set like a habit or a talent.

5. You are entirely extrinsic.

The most potent sort of motivation comes from within you; it's called intrinsic motivation, and it springs from your inner interests, beliefs, and values. It's the kind of drive you nurture on your own throughout your life, and if you stay disciplined, it can fuel you for years and years to come. The problem is that most people are motivated by extrinsic incentives, which are transient motivators that come from the outside world. You may be inspired to work only to receive a commendation from your employer, but once that incentive has passed, you are no longer motivated.

You must depend on other extrinsic benefits to get you back up and running. Many individuals rely on praise and adoration to get them started, but that poor habit is dragging them down. Ask out what drives you and inspires you to work harder and longer than anyone else. If you can't think of anything, you may be relying too much on external incentives.
